Dear friends of Mexico Ministries:

I just returned from Mexico where everything went very well. We had a fantastic time of celebration and thanksgiving as we gathered to dedicate the new stadium in Tuxtepec, and a trip into the mountains to Santa Cruz as blessed with seeing joy on the faces of the people as we dedicated the new church to the Lord. As 2022 unfolds we look forward to many steps forward in the Lord’s work.

By the time you read this I will have had the honor of celebrating the 40th anniversary of Word of Life Family Church in Patterson, LA. This church has been a close team member of Mexico Ministries since it began, and it is an honor to be part of this grand event. Soon after, I will be traveling back to Mexico to continue with plans for a new church in the Tuxtpec area. We have a great group of friends in the Dallas area who have already sent finances to make this new building a reality.

I know that these things are just the beginning of what we will do through the favor of God in this new year. I know there will be other requests to help with establishing new churches, building new buildings, and caring for people in so many other ways.

Like the U.S., Mexico has suffered much during the pandemic. My heart echoes Isaiah and Jesus with a desire to, “proclaim good news to the poor…proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4.18-19) I would love to sit down and eat with these dear, hurting people - not in a nice restaurant, but at their home tables. In this coming year I want to remember with them the difficulties we have endured together and the hope we have in a future filled with the goodness of God. I so want to encourage God’s people, to pray with them, to spend time with them. And then, if the Lord allows, I want to echo not only Isaiah and Jesus, but Peter as well, when he said, “I am going fishing!” (John 21.3)

Thank you to all of our ministry friends who have stood behind us and worked beside us all these years bringing the Good News to the people of Mexico. May the favor of the Lord rest upon you as our year unfolds.
God bless you all,

Larry
