“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” - Matthew 6.34

Dear Friends of Mexico Ministries:

I have had a couple of “episodes” lately that affected me physically and mentally, but I will not let that slow me down or cause me to worry about the future. I have given my entire life to the service of the Kingdom of God and I intend to keep doing that until the very end! One evening in January I was scheduled to speak to a small group at a local church and (partially because of the huge amount of road construction right now) I got lost and couldn’t figure out how to get unlost. I finally called my son Ken who came and found me and got me to the church.

Then in March I traveled to Oaxaca and met a group of men from Louisiana who were completing a church built in honor of Mason Leal. After a three hour drive we arrived at our headquarters. I visited a while with the team members and the next morning I couldn’t stand up. For the next few days I needed help with everything - even bathing. Thank God for good friends who were there to offer support. I finally was able to go and visit the building site and then flew home.

When I got home I saw my doctor, did some tests, and changed some of my medications. I’m better, but still not tip top. As I have said so many times to my family and friends, “That’s part of it.” That’s part of getting older when the body doesn’t do exactly like you tell it to! But: I refuse to let a roadblock keep me from doing what God called me to do.

So, in July I am going back to Mexico for two weeks to visit pastors and people and to celebrate my 89th birthday with them. In the meantime I will be speaking with Mexican pastors by phone and keeping in touch with progress there. And I already have plans to spend my 90th in Louisiana with the men who came to build the church - they’ve promised me a good church service, some good Cajun food, and even a boat trip to a fishing camp. What a blessing it is to have dear friends on both sides of the border. Until God calls me to my heavenly reward I am going to “keep on keeping on.”

God bless you,

Larry
